About us

Menzies LLP is on a mission to be recognised as the leading firm of advisers and accountants to individuals and businesses. Inspiring people through BRIGHTER THINKING is how we sum up the difference we make to our clients. It’s our finance and accounting expertise, combined with strategic commercial thinking with our values as the bedrock of our success. At Menzies we strive to Inspire, Innovate, Collaborate and Empathise. We are proud of having been recognised as one of the best Graduate & Apprenticeship Employers for the past 5 years by JobCrowd.com.

The ATT-CTA Programme

When you join, you’ll start working towards the ATT-CTA qualification. As an Apprentice you'll get involved with client work as part of a supportive and inclusive team. Our apprentices have the opportunity to work with a diverse clientele representing various industry sectors, giving you a well-rounded experience. We prioritise your growth by providing you with a mentor and training manager throughout the programme

You will be based in either our ‘‘R&D’ or ‘Business Tax’ department, where you'll gain valuable commercial insights into how organisations operate and the challenges they face. Your responsibilities will grow as you progress through the programme, with the potential to supervise other trainees by your second year.

What does a Tax team do?

Our Tax teams are responsible for managing and handling various aspects of taxation for individuals, businesses, and organisations. Their primary role is to ensure that clients comply with tax laws and regulations while optimising their tax positions to minimise tax liabilities legally. Overall, our tax team plays a critical role in helping individuals and businesses navigate the complex world of taxation, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and optimising their financial positions within the boundaries of the law.

What do we look for?

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy a challenge, and we welcome applicants with a minimum of a 2:2 undergraduate degree in any discipline. Tax is a technically demanding discipline, so it’s important that students can grasp new subjects quickly. You don’t have to be a maths genius but it’s important you are confident with numbers and have good attention to detail. You’ll often need to explain complex financial information, so you’ll also need excellent written and verbal communication skills.

If that sounds like you then you could be a great fit at Menzies.

What can we offer?

  • Agile working policy.
  • Dress for your day policy.
  • 23.5 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Opportunity to buy and sell annual leave.
  • Paid study leave.
  • Structured career development plans.
