Description

We are currently looking for Senior Manager in the Private Client Tax department. This is a new position based out of the Heathrow or Solent office and forms part of the wider Tax service we offer our clients.

 

The purpose of this role is to manage the Heathrow tax compliance team and annual compliance cycle. There will also be the requirement to oversee complex tax returns and manage key client relationships.

 

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Managing the annual tax compliance cycle for the Heathrow office.
  • Review and sign-off complex tax returns that have been prepared by junior members of the team.
  • Review client base and identify additional advisory opportunities as well as winning new compliance work.
  • Maintain regular communication with all clients and related 3rd parties
  • Manage the compliance team with direct responsibility for the mentoring, developing, and training of junior managers & trainees
  • Prepare budgets, complete work within budget and report to Partners on any variances from budget, ensuring that all assignments are carried out in a timely fashion and in accordance with the Firm’s procedures.
  • Assist with advisory projects outside of the usual annual compliance busy periods.
  • Any other ad hoc duties that may be required

 

 

 

 The Person:

 

  • CTA qualification 
  • High level of technical expertise, with experience in preparing and reviewing complex tax returns
  • Experience of managing a team, including development of junior team members
  • Self-starter capable of motivating, driving, and developing the team.
  • Able to demonstrate relevant practical experience in complex tax compliance, including non-doms, non-residents and offshore income sources.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels including excellent inter-personal skills in dealing with clients
  • Ability to provide excellent client care
  • Strong relationship building, networking, and business development skills.
  • Experience of managing the annual compliance cycle, including complex tax returns
  • Ideally able to demonstrate experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns with the following content:
    • Non Dom and residency issues
    • Reporting of offshore fund income and gains
    • Complex capital gains transactions and disclosures
    • EIS/Other tax efficient investments
    • Income and capital loss reliefs for individuals
