Description

We are currently looking for a Business Support and Cashier in the Business Recovery department. This is a key position based out of the London office and forms part of the wider Transaction Services service we offer our clients.

 

The purpose of this role is to provide business support services and cashiering to a portfolio of clients 

 

The job holder will be asked to carry out functions as business support which may include assisting in the upload of post, general assistance to the partners with correspondence/ forms, setting up internal and external meetings as well as assisting in the submission of VAT and Corporation Tax returns.

 

Further the job holder will be responsible for monies paid into and out of estate accounts and to keep those bank accounts reconciled and to make sure that the entries are correctly posted to IPS so that reports made to creditors on realisations and expenditure are correct and the relevant legislation and best practice is met. 

 

Key responsibilities include maintaining the accounts for all business recovery cases as well as liaising with Banks and the Insolvency Service regarding funds held.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • General client administrative assistance
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Produce statutory receipts and payments accounts in accordance with the Insolvency rules, regulations and deadlines.
  • Bank all funds received into the appropriate accounts and write cheques/set up electronic payments from the relevant estate bank accounts when requested.
  • Open and close bank accounts on behalf of liquidators, trustees, etc.
  • Monitoring bank balances and payment of funds
  • Ensure all entries connected with the estates e.g. trading purchase invoices and trading sales information are put onto IPS.
  • Complete journal entries, adding bank interest and charges
  • Complete Corporation Tax returns in certain cases with assistance
  • Complete VAT returns
  • Communicating with external contacts, booking networking events and administrative associated actions
  • Researching & organising travel and hotel accommodation for the partners

 

 The Person:

 

  • Previous business support or administrative experience is required
  • Good knowledge of IPS preferable but not a must have requirement
  • Some prior experience working in an Insolvency/Business Recovery practice is preferable
  • Builds effective relationships with clients through credible responses and timely updates
  • Monitors progress against deadlines and anticipates potential problems for discussion with more senior colleagues
  • Draws logical and sensible conclusions from data presented and is able to explain and justify actions when required
  • Handles basic incoming enquiries effectively at source
  • Takes instruction well and effectively builds on learning to produce strong performance improvements between reviews
  • Consistently meets deadlines as agreed with more senior colleagues or dictated by the legislation and regulation.
